Board of Director, One Club for Creativity, New York.

WRITTEN BY PAT BARON
NEW YORK US

Being appointed to the International Board in New York, just off Wall Street, was one of those surreal full-circle moments for me. Especially as someone who used to pour over One Show annuals as a student.

I was one of nine new Board members appointed globally, and the first person dedicated exclusively to representing Australia. Before that, the position rotated between Australia and New Zealand every three years.

The One Club has always represented the best of creativity, culture and craft in advertising, but also the responsibility our industry has to move things forward in a positive way.

What I value most is that the Board isn’t ceremonial. It plays an active role in shaping education, professional development, inclusion and diversity initiatives, supporting emerging talent, and helping keep creativity relevant globally and locally. Being able to contribute to that and help strengthen the connection between Australia and the wider global creative community is something I’m genuinely grateful for.

The Board brings together an incredible group of creative leaders from around the world and I’m excited to be part of the next chapter.
